Newborn Bliss

Anybody that's a parent knows that there are a whole bunch of emotions wrapped up in having a newborn that are, um, not blissful. The sleepless nights, the constant feeding, the crying. Not to mention more pee and poop than you've ever imagined. Do we take pictures of that? Heck no! ;-) We take photos of the sweet moments, of course. Yet how does one find time for a photography session amidst all of the craziness? You schedule it BEFORE the craziness begins. Clients that contact me while they're still preggers are the ones that get these kinds of shots.

And that's what Michelle and John did. Their newborn son will not look like this for long, but now we've got it officially digitized!
A wider shot to show his teeny-ness. I love the way the shadows fall.
Daddy's hand's show a wonderful perspective for his size.
A traditional photo for the new-family-of-four.
Big sister portraits are a big part of my newborn sessions as a new lifelong relationship has begun.
This is a fave....and in my heart I know it is an image that will become more and more special as the children grow.
Big sis is so pretty, right? Those expressive eyes make the photo.
A little goofiness but the soft window light from the window behind me plays nicely on her soft features.
Love those eyes again.
I love this one. Big sister looks so mature next to little bro, yet she's so young herself. An interesting juxtaposition.
Sweetness is inborn.
I was very selective with the focus here to accentuate the soft feeling of this picture.
More cool shadows.
Butterfly kisses.
It doesn't get sweeter than this. My fave of the day.
Let's not forget Mom and Dad, too. Celebrating their miracle. I like breaking the rules sometimes and shooting into the light, creating silhouettes and a bit of grungy grain.
This one is for baby to see one day when he grows. The focus of the image is not on him at all, but you can really feel the love from Mom and Dad.
He makes all the diapers worth it, for sure. ;-)
